Priced per installation, and largely reimbursed
A group with four plants has four CBAM problems, four verifiers and four sets of evidence, so the licence is per installation. Under TRACE, part of the Export Promotion Mission, most of that cost comes back to an MSME exporter — provided one form is filed in the right order.

The part that costs money if you get it wrong
File the Intent-to-Claim before you buy anything
TRACE reimbursement requires an Intent-to-Claim on the DGFT portal before the certification is obtained. It cannot be filed retrospectively. Buy first and the whole reimbursement is gone — from us or from anyone else.
- 01
Confirm your Udyam registration and category
Micro, small or medium decides your reimbursement rate. Large enterprises should check eligibility first.
- 02
File the Intent-to-Claim on the DGFT portalcannot be undone
Before you buy anything. This is the step that cannot be done retrospectively, and missing it forfeits the whole reimbursement.
- 03
Purchase the software and any verification services
Only after the Intent-to-Claim is filed.
- 04
Keep the tax invoice and proof of payment
Both are needed for the claim. Verdex issues an invoice you can attach directly.
- 05
Submit the reimbursement claim
Against the Intent-to-Claim already on file, within the scheme's window.
Also worth knowing
- The annual TRACE ceiling is ₹50 lakh per Importer-Exporter Code. Rates shown are as revised July 2026.
- A separate scheme to absorb 90% of MSME CBAM compliance cost has been proposed but is not notified. We do not price against it and neither should you.
- Eligibility and disbursement are decided by DGFT, not by Verdex. We compute, prompt and issue the invoice you attach; we do not file on your behalf and cannot guarantee the outcome.
- Verification by an accredited body is a separate cost, paid to the verifier. We do not mark it up.
