The terms, in plain language

What Verdex is
Software that computes CBAM embedded-emissions figures from the data you provide, collects supplier figures, generates a monitoring plan, and assembles the evidence file an accredited verifier audits. The calculation methodology, its legal basis and two worked reference cases are published at /methodology and /golden.
What Verdex is not — and these are terms, not marketing
- Not a verifier. Verification of embedded emissions belongs to a body accredited under Reg. (EC) 765/2008 by an EU or EEA national accreditation body. Nothing Verdex produces is a verification opinion.
- Not the declarant. The CBAM declaration is filed by the EU importer. Verdex does not file anything with any authority on your behalf — including TRACE claims, where we compute and sequence but you file.
- Not legal or financial advice. Figures, checklists and reimbursement estimates are computed from stated rules that change. Confirm current terms with your advisor, your verifier and the relevant authority before relying on them.
Your part
The figures are computed from what you enter. You are responsible for the accuracy of your inputs and for the right to share any supplier or buyer details you provide. Do not use the service to misrepresent emissions — the product is built to refuse that where it can detect it, and a use of the service designed to circumvent those checks ends the service.
Liability, honestly
The service is provided as-is while in pre-launch. We do not guarantee regulatory outcomes — acceptance of a figure rests with the verifier and the authorities, not with software. To the extent permitted by law, liability is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the twelve months before the claim. These terms are governed by the laws of India.
